Very common knowledge.
I have never been comfortable referring to him as "Harry" as I
believe nicknames should only be for close friends and family.
It's an unfortunate fact that Diana disliked the traditional
Royal name Henry and only agreed to it if she could get away
with calling him Harry...which I regard as a diminutive of "Harold"
rather than "Henry" though the Normans who conquered King Harold's
realm saw the French "Henri" as close enough to "Harry" that the
linkage stuck.
