Two sons of Robert the Strong alternated with Carolingians as Kings of
France before the grandson of one of them,Hugh Capet, took the throne
and began a long running dynasty.

Kings of France,Spain, the Two Sicilies, and monarchs of other countries in
the past thousand-plus years, today they have two enthroned
representatives:

Felipe of Spain, who has only daughters.
Henri of Luxembourg, whose two eldest sons are next in line,
but whose second son has only a daughter and whose eldest
son's wife has stated that she has no plans to become a mother.

It looks like even their realms that have retained monarchies
will no longer have Capetian monarchs in a few decades.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

Actually, the second son (Felix) and his wife had a baby son (Liam) born November 2016. But their 1st child, a daughter, will precede the son in the line of succession, since Luxembourg now goes by absolute primogeniture.

And thus only if the eldest son has a son before a daughter can the
Capetian line persist on the throne...but the eldest son's wife not
wanting children makes that persistence unlikely.
Perhaps eventuality will bring him a second wife with different
views...
