45 years ago today,the former Edward VIII of the United Kingdom died,
and Elizabeth II became heiress in blood as well as law.
Even had he not abdicated,making this the Queen's sapphire rather
than "blue sapphire" jubilee year,the only earlier English/British
reigns of greater length are those of Henry III,Edward III,George III,
and Victoria.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

For any Jacobites remaining in this forum, James the Old Pretender actually had a longer (titular) reign than Henry III, Edward III, George III, or Victoria. Queen Elizabeth just last year surpassed him.

For any Jacobites remaining in this forum, James the Old Pretender
actually had a longer (titular) reign than Henry III, Edward III, George
III, or Victoria. Queen Elizabeth just last year surpassed him.
No idea if Mr. McFerran still reads the group.

To overcome the Old Pretender despite the abdication-deduction the
Queen would have to reign for over 84 years!
