The Dukes of Norfolk are very Catholic and very traditionalist, not only the Duchess of Kent is a Catholic but her sister in law Princess Michael of Kent, born Baroness von Reibnitz and Countess Szapary from the Austro-Hungarian old nobility is a Catholic as well, from the Peerage in England, around 15% of the nobility is still Catholic and in Scotland, there are plenty of catholics amongst the old families, whose ancestors fought against the Hanoverian until they were defeated by the superiority of the English army near Inverness in 1747. The current Catholic heiress to the throne is Her Royal Highness Princess Sophia of Bavaria, Hereditary Princess of Liechtenstein, who as much more Stuart blood that Queen Elizabeth, and her ancestors were forced to leave England and they found refuge in France and later on in Italy and Austria.

Dear Group,
Please forgive me if someone has already asked this, but I didn't see it. To
my understanding the Duke of Norfolk is the current head of the Roman
Catholic Nobility in the United Kingdom. Also, the Duchess of Kent is Roman
Catholic, if I am not mistaken, as she represented Her Majesty at the
funeral of His Eminence the late Cardinal Hume. Is there a directory,
perhaps, of Roman Catholic Nobility? I thought perhaps they might push for
the late bill to allow Roman Catholics on the throne, derailed by the most
disrespectful and discriminatory Prime Minister Blair, I believe, and I
thought that there might be a league of Catholic Aristocracy to support
their rights.
I am also wondering why the Dukes of Norfolk kept their religion? In the
past there have been heretical monarchs like Henry VIII and Elizabeth I who
burned Roman Catholics at the stake, so it is interesting to inquire why, or
how, they acquired their title and kept their religion.
Faithfully yours,
William
