I was reading over the weekend about the Cranborne family and about the
political role of the Cecils. I came across an old post by Lauren
asking for information about the marriage of the eldest Cranborne
daughter in May 1998. (Sorry, I could not post a reply directly).
According to the Daily Telegraph on 30 May 1998 (Fashion section) "A
tale of two weddings etc." Elizabeth Cecil, called Eyzie by family and
intimates, married an American investment banker Stephen Buscher. (I
assume they married Sat May 23, 1998 in or near Dorset).
The article does not say where they were married, but Eyzie Cecil and
her two younger sisters are Roman Catholic like their mother.
Afterwards, the couple returned to Cranborne Manor in Dorset (an old
house dating back to King John and surrounded by 1,200 private acres),
where the drive was lit up with flares. There was lunch, dinner, and
lots of dancing -- including a fancy dress party to celebrate the
wedding and also the 21st birthday of twins Georgiana and Katherine.
The bride dressed as King George III and the groom as George Washington
-- and they danced together.
Eyzie is described as possessing magnetic and eye-flashing charm, and
the girls are reputed to be stunning. I don't follow the family closely
and have never seen pictures in Hello (the family is not encouraged to
appear in that anyway).
Marlene once wrote earlier about Diana's education that the girls had
been educated at home unlike their cousin Rachel Stirling (dau of Archie
Stirling and Dame Diana Rigg) who is finishing up at Edinburgh. A pity,
because the sons have been sent to Eton and are encouraged to track the
Gobi desert etc. Then, again the main purpose is perhaps to ensure that
they are marriageable?? Their mother seems to have done all right --
she is apparently the daughter of the founder of the SAS, and she caught
the eye of Lord Cranborne when he was just 19. [They have been married
now for nearly 30 years; both sets of parents also remained married to
each other, and the Salisburys are still alive having survived 54+ years
together]. Lady Cranborne is apparently known as a fine gardener and a
great country hostess, but the family keeps itself or is kept out of the
public eye. Lord Cranborne (fmr Shadow leader of the Lords, until he
made that deal with Blair last December) is known as a passionate
farmer, a staunch anti-Communist (he trained anti-Soviet troops in
Afghanistan while still an MP from Dorset) and a pro-Unionist. The
couple have a wide variety of friends from college days, from peers to
academics.
Too bad the girls are Catholic and too old -- they sound just about
right for the royal family, although their family's High Tory and High
Church leanings might be too much as well ;-)

Before you buy.
Georgiana and Katherine were not educated at home - I went to school with George - she is not High Tory or High Church. They probably keep out of the public eye because they are very down-to-earth #dontmakeassumptions #getyourfactsstraight

It might be worth noting that these posts are from 1999, so it's unlikely the individuals you're so enthusiastically attempting to chastise will pay much attention. Also, this isn't Twitter, so please refrain from that trendy hashtagging nonsense. One would think someone presumably born c. 1977 might be a little too old for that 'down-with-the-kids' stuff...

The server I'm reading this on doesn't retain the post you're responding
to.
