AFAIK Matilda never called herself Queen - the only title which she used in England was 'Lady of the English'.

Generally speaking Stephen is considered the King on the lists one sees.
The war between the two would be considered to have settled the basic
rule for succession to the throne in her favor (her father was the
younger brother of his mother) but now that rule has been changed;

descent through Matilda,IS among the numerous descendants of
King Stephen's elder brothers.
