The Duke of Cambridge is within two weeks of eclipsing George V
as the oldest-ever son of a Prince of Wales.
(Prince George is still two years from the record for
grandson of a Prince of Wales).

When Queen Victoria died in 1901 her grandson the German Kaiser was
five days short of forty-two...Peter Phillips would reach this age
in November of next year (overcoming Queen Victoria's advantage of
becoming a grandmother at age 39 when Queen Elizabeth II did not
until age 51).

The Kaiser's son was born in May 1882,so for Savannah Phillips to
surpass his age at Victoria's death Queen Elizabeth (born April 1926)
would have to survive until the latter part of 2029.

I'm wondering what records other dynasties might have.

The late Duke of Vasterbotten (father of the current King of Sweden)
would have been forty-four and a half years old when his grandfather
died but died at forty.

Anyone else come to mind?

Although the future Crown Prince was not Victoria's eldest great-grandchild - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Feodora_of_Saxe-Meiningen was born on 12th May 1879 - before Victoria turned sixty, and almost three years before her first cousin Crown Prince Wilhelm.

and almost three years before her first cousin Crown Prince Wilhelm.
By Victoria's death she was eight months past twenty-one and had been
married for years.
So the Queen would have to make it most of the way through her 107th
year to have a great-grandchild that old.
