Big Chief Runamuck again proves that he does not read below the headlines. Obviously the print is too small for him.

"The changes - the first since the Opening of Parliament after the snap election of 1974 - are nothing to do with her age.

Had the State Opening happened as scheduled in May - all the ceremonial dresses, carriages and crowns would have been brought out as usual.

The reason for the 'dressing down' is one of logistics.

The snap election has changed a timetable which means the military and the Palace can't make it happen.

There is a full Trooping the Colour two days before.

The rehearsal for the State Opening would have to be held on the Friday morning and it was decided it simply wasn't possible."

In May 2018,when the 92-year-old Queen is back in full ceremonial fettle,
I hope you will be held fully liable for failure to deliver a bridge...

Full fettle indeed. She is not able to walk up the stairs anymore!

It's possible you may have to wait until May 2019 to see the Queen
in all her glory as her sworn humble and obedient legislators gather
raptly...PM May has apparently opted for a two-year parliamentary
session but that assumes this parliament lasts out two years.

As the article clearly states, just a side effect of its being
scheduled within a week of Trooping the Colour.

Expect normal service to be resumed next year.

The fact that she can still wear that crown - which is quite heavy, literally, is remarkable and a sure sign of how fit and strong she still is.

Criticism of Queen is not warranted in this case. Queen is doing sensible thing.
