Doesn't seem to be. Most Polish noble surnames end in -ski and indicate possession of a village. Borowiak must mean someone living in or by a pine forest. NB do not confuse with "borowik szlachetny", noble boletus, a type of mushroom.

Or a resident / hailing from places called Borów Tucholskich or Kujaw Borowych, according to Słownik języka polskiego. The sufix -iak indicates habitation, compare "kongresowiak", inhabitant of Congress Poland.
