Hi,

I've just built a web site that might be of interest to people here. It contains details of the British line of succession back to the start of Edward VII's reign (I plan to go right back to the Act of Settlement eventually).

All comments, suggestions and corrections are welcome.

https://lineofsuccession.co.uk/

Cheers,

Dave...

Thank you for your work.

The next person after Mia Tindall has held the title Earl of Snowdon since 13 January 2017, and the next person after him has been known as Viscount Linley since that date.

Yes. I've updated those titles now. And I hope to find time to give them their correct titles on a given date later this week.

At which point, despite giving their birthdates,
you record the younger daughter of the then Sovereign's daughter
as preceding her elder sister in succession?

(why do you give then-current titles for men with eventual
titles in parentheses, but list all women by their eventual
titles?)

Delving further, you appear to CONSISTENTLY have the two daughters
of Edward VII's eldest daughter, and their respective sons,
out of order...while cousin Gerald Lascelles(1924-1998) is
completely omitted.

I'm glad they are consistent. That means the database is properly normalised, at least :-)

But, I've corrected that data now. And added the missing Lascelles.

Thanks for the feedback.

That was a data entry error that has now been corrected.

That's not an accurate description.

The site supports giving people the correct name and title for a given date. But that's a lot of data that I haven't added yet. I have, however, done that for the five British monarchs in the database. So you'll see the current queen's title change throughout time.

Cheers,

Dave...

The current Earl of Harewood's surname is spelled with a 3 in it?

Did Marina Mowatt drop her husband's name on divorce?
Or is she on a name-then rather than name-now status?

Seems unlikely, doesn't it? I've removed that now.

Other than the five British monarchs in the system, everyone displays their "best known" name at all times. I'm working on fixing that - but it will take time.

Thanks for your input.

So you accept Carol Lambrino as in line but not King Michael of Romania?

I added a *lot* of new data to the site last weekend. No doubt some errors crept in.

If you spot an error, it would be helpful if you could clearly spell out what the problem is.

Thanks,

Dave...

That said, I think I've worked out what you meant and fixed it. Thanks for the report.

Dave...
In your Edward VII era lists, you have "Princess Victora"
(instead of "Victoria") listed as his daughter...

Oops. Typos happen. Fixed now. Thanks for the report (and apologies for taking so long to respond).

I note there now is one.

But Princess Louise was Duchess of Argyll from birth,
while Princess Alice had her Hesse children without getting married at
all?

He married a Roman Catholic.
