Post by c***@yahoo.comIt is probable the Queen will reach the 70th year of her reign. Will
there be a jubilee and what would it be called?
No plans have been announced (life expectancy odds aren't quite in her
favor yet). The 70th is not an anniversary with a traditional name because
they happen so seldom, but there is a modern habit of calling it "Platinum"
(which moderns also use for the 20th,with their impatient gun-jumping
abetted by the gift industry's encouragement of more expensive gifts
sooner).
Of course Her Majesty's 70th WEDDING anniversary is next year.
The 75th anniversary is one traditionally called "Diamond",
confusingly as this also applies to the 60th...it is in some
quarters considered to apply to institutions, for whom a 100th
anniversary is also "diamond".
Should Her Majesty observe 75 years on the Throne (having reached
the age of 100 the year before) it has been proposed to call this
her "Golden Diamond Jubilee".

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
